Designed to measure the thickness of cold-rolled sheet products during production at a rolling mill. The principle of operation of the thickness gauge is based on the interaction of the radiation flux of a radioactive element with a substance. The thickness of the material can be judged by the intensity of the scattered radiation transmitted through the substance or backward. The thickness gauge measures the factor of radiation attenuation by the material and calculates its thickness using the calibration curve.
